The dynamic husband-and-wife team of Marge Piercy and Ira Wood will introduce craft elements in writing good prose and provide the opportunity to use them in unique exercises. They will focus on compelling beginnings, authentic dialogue, and strategies for organizing your ideas and material. We’ll provide you with key tools to begin or return to your writing projects with confidence and purpose and help you share your stories with a broader audience. Presented in a partnership with the St. Louis Jewish Book Festival.  $75 for subscribers/$95 for non-subscribers.

an intimate evening of conversation with Marge Piercy as we celebrate a 52-year relationship, the release of Vol. 27.1, and her selections of the winners of the 2016 Jeff Marks Memorial Poetry Prize. Marge will read her poems that have appeared in recent issues of december, and talk about writing, politics, activism, religion, and more. Presented in a partnership with the St. Louis Jewish Book Festival. Complimentary dessert buffet. Open to the public.
